Responsibilities
- Receive and verify daily receipts balanced for deposit.
- Post patient and insurance payments, zero payments, denials, and contractual allowances to the correct accounts.
- Research unclear receipts and document activity for follow-up.
- Ensure postings reconcile with site bank deposits and logs.
- Process rejections by correcting errors and resubmitting claims.
- Review and resolve credit balances and unapplied accounts.
- Maintain production and quality standards while ensuring compliance with HIPAA.
- Provide excellent customer service by following TruBridge and client-specific policies.
- Participate in ongoing training and support team projects when required.
- Manage high-profile customer accounts with attention to detail and confidentiality.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of hospital billing or payment posting experience (Medicare/Medicaid familiarity strongly preferred).
- Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 coding, CAS codes, and denial management.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret EOBs (Explanation of Benefits).
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with hospital billing, California Medicaid, and Medicare.
- Experience filing claim appeals for maximum reimbursement.
