Schedule
- Full-time, remote role (Illinois residents only)
- Monday–Friday, standard business hours
What You’ll Do
- Manage AR worklists and complete assigned reports to ensure timely resolution of accounts.
- Review and work EOBs/correspondence from patients and payors.
- Post $0 pay EOB/ERA files and reconcile daily batches.
- Research and appeal denials, underpayments, and non-paid claims.
- Ensure compliance with payor billing/coding requirements and communicate updates to the billing team.
- Assist with payment corrections, adjustments, and cash application issues.
- Contact patients to collect and resolve balances.
- Identify lost revenue opportunities and contribute to decreasing denials and improving cash flow.
What You Need
- 2+ years of experience in medical billing and collections.
- 2+ years working with CMS-1500 (02/12) charge entry, coding, and batch filing.
- Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD coding, and medical terminology.
- Experience analyzing accounts, posting payments, and managing denials.
- Excellent problem-solving, multi-tasking, and time-management skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and payor websites.
- Ability to maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
