What You’ll Do
- Prepare and submit hospital, hospital-based physician, and clinic claims (UB & 1500) via Medicare DDE or hard copy
- Secure required medical documentation from providers or facilities
- Follow up on unpaid claims until fully resolved
- Process rejections, correct errors, and resubmit claims
- Perform denial management, including appeals and corrective billing
- Review and interpret EOBs, late charge reports, readmissions, and overlapping service dates to ensure accurate billing
- Resolve credits and prepare payer-required reports
- Support reimbursement discussions with supervisors to remove billing obstacles
- Meet production and quality assurance standards consistently
- Protect patient confidentiality (HIPAA compliance)
- Assist with team projects and special assignments
What You Need
- Medicare billing experience (required)
- Strong knowledge of UB and 1500 claim forms and Medicare DDE
- Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 coding
- Computer proficiency and ability to learn billing systems quickly
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with insurance payers
- Experience filing claim appeals to ensure maximum reimbursement
- Responsible handling of confidential information
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills
