Schedule
- Remote, U.S.-based role
- Full-time, exempt
- Salary range: $120,000 – $135,000, plus equity and benefits
What You’ll Do
- Manage end-to-end bi-weekly payroll processing across 40+ states, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness
- Serve as the main contact for employee payroll inquiries and build educational resources
- Lead payroll system implementation, workflow design, and SOP development
- Track tax filings, final pay rules, and wage/hour laws across multiple jurisdictions
- Prepare annual filings (W-2, 1095-C, audits, compliance testing)
- Partner with Finance & Accounting on GL code mapping, audits, and reporting
- Reconcile benefit invoices against payroll deductions
- Develop and enforce best practices for timekeeping and compliance
What You Need
- 5+ years of payroll experience, including multi-state payroll administration
- Experience leading PEO migrations or HRIS/payroll system implementations
- Deep knowledge of federal/state wage & hour laws, tax regulations, and payroll compliance
- Proficiency in payroll systems (Rippling experience preferred), HRIS platforms, and integrations
- Strong skills in Google Suite (Sheets), Slack, and data accuracy
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Experience with benefits, LOA, HR compliance, and journal entries a plus
