Role Summary
The Customer Service Insurance Assistant supports Liberty Mutual’s Customer Service Operations (CSO) team in the Worker’s Compensation department. You’ll provide inbound call center support to agents and customers regarding underwriting, audits, and financial inquiries. This is a metrics-driven role requiring strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage inbound calls, payments, policy inquiries, and account updates.
- Enter and retrieve information in multiple systems and applications.
- Provide accurate responses regarding billing, insurance forms, and transactions.
- Uphold customer care standards by achieving performance metrics (quality, phone/email handle time, schedule adherence, reliability).
- Follow detailed procedures while balancing problem-solving and efficiency.
- Adhere to daily schedules to maintain service levels.
- Collaborate with internal departments (underwriting, billing, audit) to resolve issues.
- Perform additional administrative support tasks including correspondence, reports, and special projects.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1–2 years of customer service or administrative experience preferred.
- Strong computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite and multiple applications).
- Excellent communication (oral, written, interpersonal).
- Ability to multitask effectively in a structured, fast-paced team environment.
- Must have a dedicated, quiet home office with wired high-speed internet (cable, fiber, or DSL).
Preferred:
- Experience in call centers or insurance customer service.
- Familiarity with underwriting or billing processes.
Work Schedule
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM EST.
- Flexibility required; most employees finish by 7:00 PM local time.
- Some holidays required.
