Responsibilities
- Research and maintain medical policies for Community and State (Medicaid business)
- Lead and participate in Value Creation projects
- Conduct clinical research via health technology support line
- Audit CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding for medical policy and benefits to ensure compliance
- Serve as a key resource on complex issues and provide innovative solutions
- Lead cross-functional discussions on clinical topics
- Present work to large groups and provide explanations on complex issues
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- 3+ years of experience in a managed care organization or health insurer
- Medicaid experience in Prior Authorizations, Appeals, Claims, or Medical Policy
- Experience with InterQual guidelines
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified coder (AAPC or AHIMA)
- 3+ years of Medicaid experience in related areas
- Experience in health technology assessment and evaluation
- Policy or SOP writing experience
- Proficient with MS Word and PowerPoint
- Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and communication skills
- Ability to present to large audiences
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
