Responsibilities
- Research and maintain medical policies for Medicaid (Community & State)
- Support Value Creation projects and conduct clinical research
- Audit CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding for compliance and reimbursement accuracy
- Serve as a subject matter expert on complex or critical issues
- Lead cross-functional discussions on clinical topics and present findings to large groups
- Provide clear explanations and information on complex policy matters
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- 3+ years’ experience with a managed care organization or health insurer
- Medicaid line-of-business experience (Prior Authorizations, Appeals, Claims, or Medical Policy)
- Familiarity with InterQual guidelines
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified coder (AAPC or AHIMA)
- Experience in health technology assessment and evaluation
- Experience writing policies or SOPs
- Strong MS Word and PowerPoint skills
- Exceptional critical thinking, attention to detail, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
