📋 What You’ll Own
• Conduct full case reviews and follow-ups for prior authorizations
• Document all actions, outcomes, and escalations in system trackers
• Troubleshoot denied or delayed authorizations, submit appeals when needed
• Communicate with vendors and internal teams (Appeals, Claims, Labs)
• Identify process gaps and help implement solutions
• Track results of payment resolutions, appeals, and negotiations
• Research and apply updated payer rules and authorization guidance
• Monitor performance and contribute to improvement initiatives
• Support analysis of trends affecting reimbursement outcomes
🎯 Must-Have Traits
• 3+ years in medical billing, insurance collections, or utilization management
• 3+ years handling eligibility and prior authorization with payers
• Strong knowledge of CPT/HCPCS, ICD-10, and billing/coding standards
• Skilled in Excel, payer portals, and billing platforms
• Excellent documentation, communication, and critical thinking skills
• Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s in healthcare-related field preferred
• Ability to work independently while juggling multiple cases
• Analytical mindset and proactive problem-solving ability
• Strong confidentiality and compliance awareness
