🧾 About the Role
Symetra is seeking a detail-oriented Associate Underwriter to join its growing underwriting team. In this remote role, you’ll support pricing and renewal of Life, AD&D, Disability, and Supplemental Health products for groups ranging from 100 to 1,500 lives. You’ll evaluate risk, analyze data, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to help drive profitable business decisions and long-term client partnerships.
✅ Position Highlights
• Salary range: $48,200 – $64,300
• Full-time, remote role

📋 What You’ll Own
• Review and underwrite group RFPs—analyzing census data, plan details, and historical performance
• Develop manual and experience-based pricing recommendations
• Support inforce account renewals for groups up to 1,000 lives (Life) and 5,000 eligible lives (Supplemental Health)
• Manage sold cases and maintain reporting accuracy across your book of business
• Collaborate with sales, actuarial, and service teams to align on pricing and risk strategies
• Participate in training, projects, and continuous learning to build subject-matter expertise
