Symetra is seeking a full-time remote Actuary I to support key financial reporting and actuarial analysis within its Embedded Value (EV) framework. In this cross-functional role, you’ll collaborate with teams across the company, drive model improvements, support high-profile deliverables, and mentor junior talent—all while contributing to enterprise-wide strategy.

• Salary range: $103,300 – $172,200
• Eligible for annual bonus programs

📋 What You’ll Own
• Deliver analysis for Embedded Value and Value of New Business
• Consolidate results across life and annuity portfolios
• Act as liaison with external auditors and global partners
• Lead automation and process improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with Product, Asset Management, ERM, and Tax teams
• Contribute to regulatory reporting and year-end deliverables
• Mentor junior actuaries and review technical outputs
• Communicate financial results to senior leadership with clarity
🎯 Must-Have Traits
• ASA designation required; FSA preferred
• 4+ years of actuarial experience in life or annuity insurance
• Bachelor’s degree in a math-heavy discipline
• Strong modeling, financial reporting, and analytical skills
• Experience using MG-ALFA; SQL or Python a plus
• Skilled in explaining complex data to diverse stakeholders
• Passion for modernization and automation
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
