As a Referral Specialist, you’ll be the bridge between referred clients and their care—enrolling them into Pomelo’s doula network and guiding them with empathy, accuracy, and urgency. This role blends service, coordination, and purpose in a way that directly impacts lives.

📋 What You’ll Own
• Conduct outbound calls and digital outreach (SMS, email) to drive client enrollment
• Handle inbound inquiries from clients and external partners
• Log referrals and all communications in the system accurately and promptly
• Match clients with doulas in Pomelo’s national network
• Confirm eligibility using clearinghouse tools and insurance portals
• Coordinate with health plan case managers and healthcare providers
• Hit KPIs around referral volume, conversion, and quality standards
• Stay up to date on healthcare best practices through regular training
• Support clients with empathy and clarity as they begin their care journey
🎯 Must-Have Traits
• Fluent in Spanish
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Detail-oriented with excellent documentation habits
• Experience working in healthcare referrals or Medicaid populations
• Self-directed with strong time management
• Comfortable working remotely and independently
• Passionate about improving maternal health outcomes
