About the Role
Join Verisma as a Release of Information Specialist I, where your accuracy and dedication directly support healthcare compliance and patient privacy. You’ll be responsible for initiating and processing medical record requests using Verisma’s proprietary software—ensuring every release meets strict HIPAA and regulatory standards. This role may be remote, onsite, or facility-based.

• Pay Range: $17–$19/hr
• Schedule: Full-time
• Location: Fully Remote (some client-site or facility work possible)
• Reports to: Manager of Operations, Release of Information
• Tools: Verisma Software, Microsoft Office, Scanners, Desktop PC
📋 What You’ll Do
• Process release of information (ROI) requests quickly and accurately
• Utilize Verisma software to manage incoming requests
• Interpret medical records, forms, and legal authorizations
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and state-specific privacy regulations
• Deliver professional support to patients, providers, and third parties
• Organize and track documents throughout the ROI lifecycle
• Participate in required training sessions

🎯 Ideal Candidate Has
• High school diploma or equivalent (some college preferred)
• 2+ years of medical records or healthcare clerical experience
• Familiarity with HIPAA and release protocols (preferred)
• RHIT certification a plus
• Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite, scanning, data entry)
• Ability to stay organized, detail-oriented, and self-managed
• Experience in healthcare or health IT environment preferred
