Job Description
Class Start Date: March 20, 2023

Shift Requirements:

Discover Home Loans hours of operation: 8:00am – Midnight (EST) Monday – Friday with weekends.

1 – 3 weekends per month 9:30am – 6:00pm (EST) and adjusts with Daylight Savings Time

Start Times Available: 9:00am (EST), 10:00am (EST), 10:30am (EST) and 12:30pm (EST). Monday – Friday with weekends as assigned.

What You’ll Do

Collect minimum submission documents that can be reviewed before moving to next step.

Communicate with borrowers via phone or in writing regarding updates or, to gather additional documentation necessary to move loan forward.

How You’ll Do It

Collect documents required to render an initial credit decision.

Validate data entry points and issues required loan disclosures.

Handle customer inquiries on account status and requirements, triages technical questions.

Pre-qualify customer loan inquiries.

Review and request data to adhere to regulatory requirements.

Qualifications You’ll Need

The Basics

H.S. Diploma or GED

In lieu of education, 2+ years of experience in Customer Service or mortgage related position

Bonus Points If You Have

1+ years of experience in Customer Service or mortgage related position

2+ years of document collection experience

2+ years of mortgage lending experience

Individuals in this position are required to comply with all rules and regulations of The Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (The SAFE Act). Employees hired or transferring into this position will need to meet the qualification requirements, in DISCOVER FINANCIAL SERVICES sole discretion, under Reg. Z, prior to acting as a loan originator in any capacity, with access to consumer credit transactions secured by a dwelling. Qualification requirements include but are not limited to an assessment of overall financial responsibility, character, and general fitness through review of a criminal background check, credit report, and information about any administrative, civil, or criminal findings by any government jurisdiction.
