JOB DESCRIPTION

The HR Generalist- Solution Center supports the day-to-day administration and processes related to North American employee’s life cycle and inquiries involving general HR matters, benefits, leaves of absence, long-term incentive programs, performance management, policies, and acts as the subject matter expert in the use of our HRMS, Workday. This position partners with Employee leaders, Corporate and Field HR Business Partners, HR Centers of Expertise, and Staffing DAC/DOS members strategically retain talent and provide the best employee experience.

  • Respond professionally and diplomatically with high energy and accuracy with a positive attitude, in a timely manner, to new hire, current, and former employee inquiries for information. Work under minimal supervision and follow established guidelines in an environment with competing priorities.
  • Utilize professional concepts to solve problems of moderate scope and escalated issues. The expectation is that all inquiries will either be resolved by this role or referred to an SME for specific, complex situations that require additional help.
  • Use discretion and sound judgment to communicate and escalate potential issues to the HR Compliance department managers, Benefits and Savings managers, LOA administrators, and HRBPs.
  • Maintains a strict standard of confidentiality in handling Company sensitive information, reports, and correspondence.
  • Key point of contact for incoming inquiries related to benefits, savings plans, pay policies, and general HR matters. Apply knowledge of human resources to ensure proper communication by explaining or helping employees with their requests or needs. Review various factors and exercise sound judgment in developing solutions and recommendations.

Employee Relations

  • Interpret and apply an understanding of Corporate, Staffing, and Protiviti policies and processes and provide guidance and clarification. Take all incoming calls concerning Harassment, Sexual Harassment, Discrimination, Wage and Hour, and other civil rights violation calls. Generate a thorough and complete investigation report. Analyze information and determine where the complaint needs to be routed. Work with District leaders, Field HRBP, and the Legal department to ensure all information is provided.
  • Stays informed of laws, case law changes, regulations, policies, and programs relevant to employee relations and employment practices.

Leave of Absences

  • Work with corporate and staffing employees to walk them through the leave of absence process; discuss their eligibility, coverage, and how to apply for state coverage; and go over the entire process, including how our vendor deals with LOAs. Responds to escalated calls and inquiries referred by HR Business Partners regarding Leave of Absences. Develops human resources solutions by collecting and analyzing information and recommending courses of action.

Project / Program Management- Partners in RH recognition and Diversity initiatives and programs and encourages/educates employees about such programs.

Leadership / People Management/Coaching– HR contact for general HR activities, operations, and crisis management.

HR Policy Development – Misc. Duties

  • Research, develop, create, interpret, implement, and monitor processes drafted in support of the HR Solutions Center. Draft guidelines and answer books for all RH/Protiviti for the solutions center. Once drafted, responsible for ensuring these answer books are updated with any policy changes or benefits updates to provide the most up-to-date answers are within the HR Solutions Center policy guidance answers. Respond to all requests on internal employee court orders and government agencies. Complete all incoming forms from SSA, Veterans Administration, and other agencies on both temporaries and staff. Take on additional projects within HR Operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required.
  • 5+ years of HR experience.
  • Broad HR Generalist knowledge and expertise in Leaves of Absence, verifications services, benefits, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Strong communications, both written and oral, and strong customer service orientation
  • Can self-start and maintain a positive, upbeat and helpful attitude
  • Be a team player who strives for excellence.
  • Flexibility with scheduling to cover North American time zones
  • Must have attention to detail
  • Call center experience preferred
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing environment where multi-tasking is a must while maintaining a positive, constructive and professional demeanor.
  • General knowledge of MS Office with proficiency in MS Excel.
  • At least 1 year of HRMS database exp. or other relational database experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • PHR preferred but not required
