Also, you’ll need to be researching and resolving problems before, during and after calls within a high volume, demanding environment.
This function is responsible for medical and ancillary product premium patient billing/invoicing. Positions in this function interact with customers gathering support data to ensure invoice accuracy and also work through specific billing discrepancies. Provide input to policies, systems, methods, and procedures for the effective management and control of the premium billing function. Educate customers regarding the availability of receiving invoices and remitting payments through online applications. Monitor outstanding patient balances and take appropriate actions to ensure clients pay as billed. Manage the preparation of patient invoices and complete reconciliation of billing with accounts receivables. May also include quality assurance and audit of billing activities. Note: Positions mainly responsible for more general A/R activities which do not include medical and ancillary premium billing activities can be found in the Accounts Receivable function in the Finance job family. *Employees in jobs labeled with ‘SCA’ must support a government Service Contract Act (SCA) agreement.

This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday to Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 09:00am – 06:00pm PST.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Interact with customers via inbound/outbound calls to gather support data to ensure invoice accuracy, resolving billing discrepancies, when applicable.
- Provide input regarding policies, systems, methods and procedures for the effective management and control of patient billing functions
- Educate customers regarding the availability of receiving invoices and remitting payments through patient online applications.
- Process patient payments via electronic payment terminal and secure patient financial information in accordance with company and legal/regulatory guidelines
- Monitor outstanding patient balances and take appropriate actions to ensure clients pay as billed.
- Reply to patient-balance related (internal) e-mails regarding patient balance inquiries, concerns, and/or discrepancies
- Manage the preparation of patient invoices and complete reconciliation of billing with accounts receivables

Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma / GED (or higher) OR equivalent work experience
- 1+ years of experience in medical or patient billing
- Ability to work a 40-hour schedule within the operating hours of the site (9:00am – 6:00pm PST)
Telecommuting Requirements:
- Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
- Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
- Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in a related environment (i.e. office, administrative, clerical, customer service, etc.) using phones and computers as the primary job tools
- Hope Infusion Therapy billing experience

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $16.00 – $26.88. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $16.83 – $29.66.
