What you’ll do:
- Work directly with remote HR departments to facilitate accurate and timely payroll processing
- Serves as liaison to employees and with third party payroll vendors to ensure payroll processing accurately reflects company specific pay policies.
- Process employee maintenance and perform audits to ensure integrity of data.
- Submit & coordinate special payments (retro calculations, commissions, bonus, taxable fringe, etc.) and deduction adjustments
- Manage batch input spreadsheets for upload into payroll system. Must be able to take a spreadsheet and format it for proper upload into the payroll system.
- Process pre payroll checklists including audits and balancing – prior to submitting final payroll.
- Audits employee pay records and reconciles totals by department, location, etc.
- Prepare and process off cycle payments to employees
- Communicate wage garnishments to the vendor who manages garnishments
- Coordinates with third parties on payroll system implementations and upgrades.
- Interprets pay policies, (e.g., vacation, LOA, disability, government regulations, withholding exemptions, etc.) and ensures appropriate amounts/deductions are calculated and applied to the various accounts correctly.
- Verifies compliance with federal and state payroll requirements; stays current with changes in the law.
- Prepare and coordinate month end, quarter end and year end finance reports
- Create and process reports, both routine and ad hoc, as defined in department business processes for internal and external customers
- Monitor and address all internal requests as required in your role
- Answer employee questions regarding their paycheck
- Maintain and file payroll records
Who you are:
- Must have experience with Workday payroll
- Ability to interface and communicate effectively with all levels of management within the organization
- Proven hands-on experience with a strong work ethic and exceptional attention to detail
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to multi-task to manage priorities and workflow
- Ability to function in a deadline driven, fast-paced and ever changing environment
- Can-do positive attitude with excellent interpersonal skills, strong customer service focus and timely follow-through
- Excellent communications skills, verbal, written and active listening, to effectively communicate HR information to both HR and non-HR individuals
- Strong PC skills including MS Office with advanced Excel
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all HR and payroll records
- Excellent interpersonal skills, an agile thinker, and fun to work with!
- Tenacious, determined self-starter eager to make a difference
- Team player willing to pitch in, as needed, for the greater good
