Opportunity Summary:
We are seeking an eager-to-learn and grow communications professional for the role of Internal Communications Specialist. This is an entry-level position, and the ideal candidate is a solutions-first go-getter and has a high level of flexibility. They should be an excellent writer and creative thinker with sound judgment. By supporting all employee groups throughout the organization, this role will ultimately be responsible for managing the voice of the brand internally and a robust catalog of content for our internal communication channels, all while having a pulse on what employees across the globe want to know and how best to share it. In addition, this role will have opportunities to experience all facets found within an integrated communication discipline at a fast-paced, public B2B software company.
This role will report directly into the Senior Director of Communications.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Become an expert in all things Upland and our products, while upholding our brand tone of voice, ensuring we are communicating simply and consistently in all our employee content
- Develop engaging and shareable content to keep employees across the organization informed and motivated about the business and their growth at Upland
- Develop and manage editorial calendar for relevant internal channels/systems for employee communication and information, and owning all relevant messaging channels (e.g., SharePoint, LinkedIn, Teams, bi-monthly newsletter, and email)
- Build and maintain relationships with a diverse set of internal stakeholders to increase visibility and improve the quality of communications throughout the organization
- Review and edit written content meant for internal use across all channels
- Partner with the HR and Communications Teams to develop and deliver communication related to company-wide events (Global All Hand meetings every other month and Annual Kick Off), onboarding, acquisitions, employee surveys, recognition, Diversity Equity & Inclusion initiatives, and more
- Support leaders across the organization by advising on content for internal communications and presentations, ensuring messaging is clear and succinct
- Can demonstrate an understanding of relevant KPIs and how to monitor and measure success
Requirements:
- 1-2 years of related PR, HR, people, and/or marketing communications experience (can be a combo of internships and full-time positions)
- Excellent writer and editor is critical for this role; Familiar with AP-Style
- Experience with project management and decision-making
- Ability to spot and embrace new employee engagement trends and use-cases for Upland
- Ability to always demonstrate maturity and good judgment
- Possess a high degree of integrity and sense of confidentiality
- Strong organizational, attention to detail, and an innate ability to stay on top of multiple projects at once
Desired Skills:
- Experience in developing content for internal newsletter and/or internal events (town halls, award ceremonies, annual kick off’s, etc.)
- Experience working with or within HR or People teams
- Experience developing or supporting DE&I initiatives
- Experience with employee communication channels such as SharePoint, Culture Amp, LinkedIn, Teams, etc.
