Job Summary:

The Claims Medicare Compliance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring compliance with the duties and obligations set forth in the MSP, MMSEA, CMS MMSEA Section 111 User guides and associated laws, rules, and regulations. Under the direction of the Claims Compliance Reporting Manager, the Claims Medicare Compliance Coordinator is responsible for implementing and maintaining an internal control system that promotes adheres to, and allows for, the efficient monitoring of compliance with all applicable statutory, regulatory and Medicare program requirements. The Claims Medicare Compliance Coordinator is an individual contributor role designed to principally lead one or more compliance operational activities and will be accountable to contribute in every way possible to execute established compliance initiatives.

  • Conduct annual risk assessments of Medicare controls within Claims.
  • Gather and analyze Medicare compliance information from internal business partners and third-party Medicare compliance vendors.
  • Identify and effectively communicate (both written and verbal) recommendations for internal control enhancement.
  • Design, develop and manage Medicare compliance guidelines, systems, workflows, reports, forms, products, and other information to ensure compliance with MSP and MSP-related laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Develop, update, and deliver Medicare-specific training programs for Claims employees.
  • Prepare regular Medicare Compliance Program summaries for Claims leadership.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on MSP-related laws, rules and regulations and on the Claims Medicare compliance program and activities.
  • Ensure compliance reporting and support activities are carried out timely and accurately.
  • Remain abreast of changes in MSP-related laws, rules, and regulations and identify, and communicate Medicare compliance program enhancement opportunities to Claims leadership.
  • Assist in responding to Medicare-related questions or concerns from Claims staff.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal and external business partners.
  • Lead or assist with departmental and organizational projects.

  • Ability to operate media equipment such as projectors and personal computers

Work Experience

  • Insurance industry background preferred
  • 5 years of relevant MSP and MMSEA
  • Section 111 Reporting and/or legal/compliance related experience

Certification

Insurance certifications or affiliation with industry group a plus

Education

Bachelor’s degree required
