The Role:
As a Benefits & Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for the delivery and execution of the end to end benefits programs. This includes administration of new plan evaluations and the open enrollment process. This position also has responsibility for managing and processing payroll for the organization on a bi-monthly basis.
Your Day-To-Day Responsibilities:
- Exercise knowledge of benefit plans, processes, and procedures to competently advise employees on eligibility, enrollment, coverage, and options available.
- Administration of all employee benefit programs, procedures, policies for benefit plans and leave (such as COBRA, FMLA, STD).
- Performs payroll processing for US & CAD payroll.
- Performs data entry, audits, and adjustments as necessary.
- Coordinate with payroll to facilitate accurate and timely delivery of employer contributions and payroll deductions to carriers, plan administrators, or other appropriate service providers.
- Manage the Open Enrollment process and communications for benefits.
- Identify discrepancies and follow up to resolve issues through problem solving, ownership, and follow through.
- Stay up to date on HR Compliance topics and relevant law or policy changes that affect our workforce.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience administering benefits plans and programs
- Experience leading Open Enrollment and managing payroll processes
- Minimum 3 years working with HRIS systems, preferably Paycom
- College degree or equivalent required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient with Google suite and extremely adept with technology
- Excellent communication (both written and verbal), strong project management, analytical and critical thinking skills with thorough attention to detail are required.
- Superb attention to detail and organization skills
- Ability to influence and drive results in a fast-paced environment
- Familiar with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to benefits, payroll, and HR Compliance topics
