Job Summary:
Evaluate requests, documentation and/or system input to create complete, accurate and legally defensible individual insurance contracts, amendments and contract related documents which accurately reflect the insurance risk and comply with the company’s underwriting and legal requirements and individual state specific requirements. Collaborate with IDI Underwriters and other support staff to ensure appropriate risk management.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Create individual insurance contracts and related documents, based on individual insured eligibility as determined by underwriter that are complete, accurate and legally defensible. Acquire and maintain and in depth knowledge of individual state specific requirements and ensure contract accuracy. Review file documentation as needed to identify discrepancies in underwriter communication and approved risk. Pursue clarification and correction as needed. Policies must be created and shipped within specified turnaround time utilizing various computer programs and software.
Review individual insurance applications for completeness, compliance with state and corporate requirements and valid producer contracting. Enter personal and contract information into policy administration system verifying plan and policy features. Determine and enter policy specific codes into system to ensure accurate actuarial data collection as appropriate.
Provide 100% quality assurance review on each individual contract to ensure completeness and accuracy. Act as subject matter expert to internal customers as relates to compliance and individual state contract requirements.
Maintain effective working relationships on contract related matters. Communicate effectively with internal customers utilizing either verbal or written communication to resolve policy related issues.
Perform Reissue from Start requests assuring accurate internal accounting, compensation impact and SOX requirements are followed. Provide ongoing support to projects and other tasks as assigned. Complete system testing for process and system improvements.
Job Specifications:
Education: High school diploma, plus 1 to 2 years secondary education, and/or equivalent experience.
Experience: Demonstrated ability to produce grammatically correct documents and ability to work with multiple or shifting priorities; Attention to detail and accuracy in a high production environment; PC skills and ability to type 45 WPM (assessment given); Ability to effectively communication with a variety of internal customers; Ability to apply policies and procedures to a variety of situations; Ability to make independent decisions in the absence of specific direction to mitigate risk.

Note: The Standard is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the pay rate for this role when hiring a Colorado resident. The salary for employees working in Colorado in this role is listed below. The Standard’s package also includes incentive plan participation and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, retirement, and paid time off.
Hourly Pay Range: 17.74 – 30.00
