West Virginia University Health System is hiring a fully remote Insurance Authorization Specialist III to support its growing healthcare network. In this role, you’ll handle prior authorizations for elective infusions and injections—working between clinical teams and payors to ensure patients are financially cleared and care is not delayed.

📋 What You’ll Own
• Obtain and manage prior authorizations for medications and outpatient services
• Review patient records and clinical documentation to meet payor requirements
• Communicate with clinics, pharmacists, and insurance companies
• Use EPIC to manage workload and documentation
• Track and follow up on authorization requests, appeals, and peer reviews
• Help resolve denial issues and obtain retro authorizations as needed


🎯 Must-Have Traits
• High school diploma + 2 years of medical admin experience (or associate degree + 1 year)
• Familiarity with CPT/ICD-10 codes and third-party payor processes
• Strong attention to detail and multitasking skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EPIC systems preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication
