📍 About the Role
Nira Medical is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Benefits and Authorizations Specialist Lead to support our Infusion & Revenue Cycle Management team. In this key role, you’ll lead insurance verification, pre-authorizations, and patient financial assistance—ensuring patients receive the care and coverage they deserve.
✅ What You’ll Be Doing
• 🔍 Verify and document patient insurance eligibility and coverage
• 📤 Submit pre-authorizations for office visits and infusion services
• ⚖️ Calculate and explain patient financial responsibility
• 📞 Handle insurance denials, appeals, and peer-to-peer review coordination
• 🧬 Understand infusion drug authorization requirements across all payers
• 💰 Assist patients with finding and enrolling in financial assistance programs and manufacturer copay help
• 📚 Maintain a strong working knowledge of insurance plan structures and approval types
📌 Qualifications
• 🎓 High school diploma or equivalent required
• 🗂 2–3 years of experience with insurance verification and authorizations (infusion services preferred)
• 💡 Familiar with J-codes, CPT, and ICD-10
• 💬 Clear understanding of medical terminology and clinical documentation
• 🧠 Critical thinking and sound judgment under pressure
• ⚙️ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• ⏱ Proven ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• 💻 Experience with Athena a plus (not required)
