🔍 Job Overview
Nira Medical is seeking a Benefits and Authorizations Specialist to join our Infusion & Revenue Cycle Management team. This remote, full-time role is responsible for verifying patient insurance coverage, submitting pre-authorizations, and assisting with financial programs to ensure access to infusion and medical services.
You’ll play a critical role in helping patients avoid delays in treatment while supporting compliance, accuracy, and overall financial transparency.
🧠 What You’ll Do
• Verify and document insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage for office visits and infusion services
• Submit prior authorizations and obtain pre-certifications from insurance payers
• Facilitate denial resolution steps including appeals and peer-to-peer reviews
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payer-specific infusion drug policies and authorization requirements
• Calculate patient financial responsibility and clearly communicate expected costs
• Assist patients with financial relief options, including manufacturer copay programs and patient assistance resources
🧰 What You’ll Bring
• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• 2–3 years of experience in insurance verification and prior authorization (infusion experience preferred)
• Working knowledge of J-codes, CPT, and ICD-10
• Understanding of medical terminology and clinical documentation
• Familiarity with insurance plan types, structures, and benefit coverage criteria
• Athena EMR experience (a plus, not required)
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong critical thinking
• Ability to multi-task and remain effective in a fast-paced environment
