As our Payroll Manager, you’ll own end-to-end payroll processes in a fast-paced, multi-state environment. You’ll ensure every team member is paid accurately and on time while helping shape our systems as we scale nationally.

• Base salary: $120,000–$135,000 (dependent on experience and level)
• Full-time, remote across the U.S.

📋 What You’ll Own
• Manage bi-weekly payroll processing via PEO and HRIS systems
• Serve as point of contact for employee payroll inquiries
• Lead payroll system implementation and workflow development
• Oversee multi-state tax registration and quarterly filings across 40+ states
• Prepare annual W-2s, 1095-Cs, and other compliance reports
• Reconcile benefits invoices and GL code mapping with Finance
• Build manager education on timekeeping and compliance
• Track jurisdictional labor/payroll law updates and ensure policy alignment
🎯 Must-Have Traits
• 5+ years of payroll experience, including multi-state payroll
• Previous experience leading or supporting a PEO migration or HRIS rollout
• Deep knowledge of federal and state wage laws, tax regs, and payroll compliance
• Prior hands-on use of Rippling or similar payroll/HRIS tools
• Strong spreadsheet skills (Google Sheets), system integration savvy
• Comfortable managing confidential data with integrity and precision
• Bonus: Experience with benefits admin, LOA tracking, HR compliance, and journal entries
