CVS Health is hiring an experienced Stop Loss Underwriter to join our growing Stop Loss Center of Excellence. In this remote role, you’ll evaluate and manage risk on large group contracts to help deliver smart, strategic underwriting that supports growth and safeguards profitability. Your expertise will help shape our organization’s ability to meet financial and strategic goals.
✅ Position Highlights
• $54,300 – $159,120/year (based on experience, education, and location)
• Full-time, 40 hours/week
• Remote position (U.S. only)

📋 What You’ll Own
• Perform underwriting analysis and assess risk for new and renewal large group Stop Loss contracts
• Recommend pricing strategies based on financials, underwriting principles, and business goals
• Support audits on premiums, fees, and claims to ensure accuracy
• Collaborate cross-functionally to improve visibility and innovation within the Stop Loss area
• Deliver high-quality Stop Loss quotes and renewals for both new and existing business
• Coach junior colleagues in underwriting processes and best practices
🎯 Must-Have Traits
• Minimum 3+ years of Stop Loss underwriting experience (required on resume)
• 5–7 years overall experience in underwriting or actuarial roles
• Strong analytical skills and decision-making ability
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills
• Ability to coach, mentor, and influence others
Preferred:
• Experience with Stop Loss rating tools and processes
• History of delivering new business quotes and managing renewals independently
• 3+ years leading results-based programs in underwriting
