We are seeking a detail-driven ROI (Release of Information) Medical Records Specialist to process medical record requests with speed, accuracy, and the utmost respect for patient privacy. This is a full-time, remote position requiring strong organizational skills, a working knowledge of HIPAA, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service while protecting sensitive health information.

📋 What You’ll Own
• Process incoming release of information requests accurately and efficiently
• Retrieve, scan, and transmit medical charts and documentation
• Validate authorization forms in compliance with HIPAA and internal policy
• Perform quality checks to ensure confidentiality and correct invoicing
• Respond to phone, fax, and mail requests based on client needs
• Maintain records of requests and secure all confidential patient information
• Operate scanners, copiers, and fax machines while maintaining clean workspaces
• Stay informed on state laws and fee structures regarding record requests
• Provide outstanding customer service to requesters and clients
• Follow all applicable client, company, state, and federal regulations


🎯 Must-Have Traits
• High school diploma or GED required
• 2+ years of experience in a medical records or healthcare admin setting (preferred)
• Strong computer proficiency—especially in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to type at least 50 words per minute
• Experience with scanners, fax machines, and copiers
• Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills
• Self-motivated, dependable, and team-oriented
• Demonstrated customer service excellence
• Ability to work remotely and support local client sites when needed
• Knowledge of HIPAA and patient privacy compliance standards
