Versant Health—one of the nation’s top managed vision care providers—is seeking a Provider Data Specialist to manage, verify, and maintain accurate demographic and payee data for over 80,000 ophthalmology and optometry providers nationwide. Your work will ensure the accuracy of provider directories, utilization management, authorizations, and claims processing. This role combines data management expertise with provider education to support a high-quality, compliant vision care network.

• Pay rate: $20.00 – $22.50/hour
• Full-time, virtual position

📋 What You’ll Own
• Add, update, and terminate provider, office, and payee records across three provider databases
• Manage non-contracted provider data to ensure accurate claims processing and authorizations
• Conduct provider data audits using NPI Registry, Medicaid Provider Master Files, and IRS standards
• Maintain compliance with CMS Provider Directory regulations
• Educate providers and office staff on the impact of accurate data and directory updates
• Support recruitment, credentialing, and provider directory updates from vendor submissions
• Manage complex retailer and provider group data
• Assist Accounts Receivable with negative balance accounts and network suspensions/reactivations
• Conduct peer reviews and participate in IT projects related to provider data enhancements
🎯 Must-Have Traits
• 4–5 years’ experience in managed care within provider data management, credentialing, network development, or provider relations
• Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
• Proven experience managing provider, office, and payee data or claims processing
• Strong knowledge of CMS Provider Directory regulations
• Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint
• Ability to work with PHI/PII while maintaining confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
