🧾 About the Role
Equip Health is a fully virtual, evidence-based treatment provider for eating disorders across the U.S. As a Medical Records Specialist I, you’ll help manage, safeguard, and organize critical patient health data—ensuring care teams, insurance providers, and patients have timely access to accurate information. This role is ideal for someone detail-driven with a strong understanding of HIPAA and healthcare documentation standards.
✅ Position Highlights
• $48,000–$60,000/year + bonus potential
• Full-time
• 100% remote (U.S. based)

📋 What You’ll Own
• Manage, organize, and update patient medical records in the EMR system
• Review documents for errors, omissions, and completeness
• Upload/retrieve records per company protocols
• Safeguard sensitive data per HIPAA and internal privacy standards
• Audit files for compliance with legal and regulatory guidelines
• Respond to medical record requests from providers, payers, and legal entities
• Help patients access their records with care and confidentiality
• Collaborate with providers to correct discrepancies
• Support related administrative tasks as assigned
🎯 Must-Have Traits
• LCSW, CCMA, or similar healthcare certification
• 1+ year of experience in medical records or health information management
• Knowledge of HIPAA, medical terminology, and EMR systems
• Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple priorities
• Clear communicator, able to interact across teams and with external parties
• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
