What You’ll Do
- Review outstanding AR accounts and follow up with insurance carriers to resolve denials and ensure payment
- Research denied CPT codes and verify against LCD/NCD requirements
- Identify payment trends and escalate issues impacting reimbursement timelines
- Manage 50–100 denials per day based on supervisor assignments
- Work with appeals department on disputed or denied claims
- Maintain accurate documentation of all contacts with providers, payors, and patients
- Take incoming calls from insurance carriers and patients regarding account status
- Ensure processing and reporting deadlines are met consistently
What You Need
- Minimum 2 years of insurance follow-up experience (preferred)
- Knowledge of managed care contracts, fee schedules, Medicare/Medicaid (preferred)
- Experience with billing software, EOBs, ICD-9/ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding (preferred)
- Familiarity with medical terminology and oncology billing (chemotherapy and radiation)
- Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills
